Flood

do you know that feeling
when telling a story
you havent in so very long
the flood gates open
as memories wash upon you

now the water rushes over you
and you are different
so that water
the same water
somehow
feels
different

a memory tingle
it creates in the mind
and washes off the sediment
built upon
by daily life
revealing
newfound
revelations
of that memory
awakening
new perspectives
and truths
